“Think I can ride down that hill?” “I dunno, you think?” “Let’s see.”

That was the short conversation I had with a good friend of mine early Sunday morning, before my metamorphosis from pretty boy to Frankenboy. I’ll give you a run down of the events.

Farewell Marc Boudreau

A while ago I posted about Jeff Bedard leaving town (which has finally occured after a long stay in Europe), but along with his departure also comes the departure of Marc Boudreau. He is saying goodbye to Ottawa after six years of calling it home and setting a course for Vancouver. Marc is always known for his outspoken attitude, and his willingness to lend a hand and his skills to the scene wherever needed, and he will be missed. Best of luck out west Marc.

Leland Nightingale Video

Long time best friend of Capital BMX and one of my favourite humans, Leland Nightingale, filmed this short edit of a few tricks in his spare time in Toronto. Commence comments about the gruesome yellow forks.

* UPDATE: contest is closed – Philip O. is the winner *

Last month a number of members of the Animal team were in town on the Ten Pack Tour. While here they made a quick visit to Joe Mamma’s, rode a few spots in town, and had a BBQ before having to head back out to Quebec. They were also generous enough to send some goods through to us, and here’s your chance to win a free copy of the the new Animal Cuts DVD by answering a few Animal related questions that any die hard fan might know (or spend a little time on Youtube and Google to find the answers). Click below to read the full details.

Once again… a video… but this time not BMX.

Hey all. Sorry to shamelessly poach the Capital site to further my own agenda, but one of my short films is in an online festival right now and I’d like all of you to rejoice in the hilariousness of murder by watching it.

Telus’s Shortsnonstop Film Festival is broadcasting shorts under 3 minutes long on Telus’ mobile network as well as online, so this film is gonna get alot of play time. But the higher the video’s rating the more play time it will get, so please when you click on the link, vote for 5 stars!

Kyle Lafleur Sudbury Video

One-time Ottawa local Kyle Lafleur sent this video through of him riding the Sudbury park up north. The videos just keep on rolling in this week.

Haircut Nick Summer Web Video

James Barton Power Half Hour

Broderick Horne sent in a new video of his friend James from a half hour session at the Napanee park. Never one to turn away great content from anywhere in the Ontario region, I gladly obliged. Really solid riding and video again.

New Stickers

Photo on 2010-07-19 at 21.56

After running out of the previous Capital BMX stickers for a while now, I finally got around to getting some more made. No new design this time, just a re-print of our most popular, and my favourite, design: GREAZY. I also have some Yo Sick Zine stickers printed up too. Both stickers are free and available from me directly, or you can grab them at Joe Mamma while they last.

BMX Bandits @ Mayfair Theatre

As mentioned in the past on the message board, the Mayfair Theatre will be having a screening of the embarrassingly classic film from 1983 BMX Bandits on Thursday, July 22nd, at 9:00 pm, brought to you by Joe Mamma and Top Of The World. Everyone that can should make it out.
