Kyle Lafleur – Power Half Hour

Kyle just posted this video on the board, but here it is again. His rear wheel broke, so he ran a front wheel in the back and made this video of chainless riding at the Barhaven park.

Raised on the Streets.

We here in Ottawa complain alot about the lack of “good street” in our fair city. Tonight Andrew, Jeff, Roland, Prashant and I embarked on a lowly street mission. We didn’t really expect to do much more than oogle girls, but in the end we actually ended up having a pretty productive session. Andrew shut down most of the spots (as you can probably see from the photos); its great to have him back. Roland put more work in than anyone, taking some serious slams and producing some really cool riding in he process.

It’s funny, going into the session I expected us to do little riding and more oogling, but in the end I don’t think we made even one girl feel uncomfortable… strange.

In The Gnar – Toner and Paper

Through the power of the internet, accompanied by snail mail, I got the chance to become friends with Nick Ferreira who runs Holeshot Zine. He also runs the website In The Gnar, which if you haven’t bookmarked it and check it on the regular, you should. To make a long story short, Nick and I trade zines, and he did a post about zines and their relevance, and even had some nice words to say about mine. Take a look at the post here, and if you haven’t gotten a copy of Yo, Sick Volume 2 I should have some on hand this weekend at the 39C Jam. Just ask me for one and I will gladly give them out. Issue 3 is on the way.

Photoshop Contest

Alright everyone. So we’re gonna have some fun. I stole a picture Brandon Lalonde put up on Facebook of him jumping over excitedly on a beach. And I’m offering up a moderate prize (to be determined) for whoever comes up with the funniest thing to photoshop him into.

The deadline for entries will be a week from today. E-mail all submissions to Chris@Landozine.ca

Good luck. And remember, anything goes. Nothing is taboo.

39C Jam & BBQ

Jeff and all the other members of the 39C-gar household are putting on a jam next weekend in the parking lot of Jeff’s place of work (88 Bentley Avenue). Because of scheduling conflicts with the Presence Jam in Montreal they have pushed it to the Sunday. I took it upon myself to make a flyer for the event.

Come out and you can expect their selection of ramps (3 foot quarters, grind box, etc.), BBQ, heckling, mini contests (long jump, footdown perhaps?), and a laid back afternoon of fun.

Those that aren’t familiar with the location you can click here and get directions from wherever you are, or click below for a full map.

Jeremy Deme over at Presence is throwing a jam in Montreal on the 22nd. All those that can make it, should make the trek out there and show support as it is expected to be a great time. Check out the posted for full details.
