Just a reminder to everyone that the Halloween Jam is this Saturday at the Kanata Skatepark from 3pm to dark. I have a box of goods from our sponsors and will have free candy on hand. Come out and show your support, have some fun, wear a costume, and we’ll pass around a donation container to keep raising funds for the Orleans box jump.

Considering that I only shot about 4 photos that evening, and I have yet to get any film developed, this will probably be the only coverage you’ll find on here from the contest last weekend. What the video missed out on was Ben’s huge no hander over the long box, and attempted hop double whip in to the bank to chain break, and Lee Dennis’ smith up to hard 180 backwards smith (which most people seemed to over look). Congrats to Steve Moxley for taking 2nd place and winning a solid $600.

Near the corner of Cyrville and Ogilvie there is a parking lot with a nice little bank to barrier, but its always been a bit haggard. Rich fixed that by making a brand spankin’ new tranny at the bottom of it. Brandon, Prashant and I went out tonight to give it a little tester outer and I took a few pictures….

Orleans Ramp Benefit Jam

More October events! Rich Redmond made this poster for the Orleans Ramp Benefit Jam going down on Sunday, October 18th at 1 pm. Everyone coming is encouraged to donate at least $2 to go towards the funding of a box jump at the park. All are encouraged to come out to support this, no matter where you live in the city. Let’s have a good time in the east end before the snow starts to fall.
BMX Bonanza – Simcoe

October seems to be the month of BMX events. Our friend Harley at Ten Pack emailed me to let me know of the event he has going on in his hometown of Simcoe (6 hours from Ottawa) going on this Saturday, October 10th. Check the flyer for full details, and if you are anywhere in Southern Ontario that is close to there this long weekend, definitely try and check it out.

There is a contest going on at the Taz park in Montreal on October 24th. There are 50 spots for amateurs, and 50 spots for pros. Top 3 ams get new bikes, and a cash purse for the pros. Pre-register to make sure you get in before it fills up. $20 for ams to register, and $45 for pros. Check out more details on the flyer.
