One Day in Montreal

Montreal Day Trip from Rob Lando on Vimeo.

Chris Chitaroni and Jorden Guth went to Montreal for the day.  Here is an edit they made.

Throwback Thursday

I have such a hard time remembering to post throwbacks… like every Wednesday I think about it, and then BAM all of a sudden its Friday and I’ve missed the boat. But this time, I’m on it. And do I have a good throwback for you all! First off, this is before my time… as this video was made before I had any connection to the Ottawa scene. Brandon Lalonde sent it to me today…Rich Redmond’s First Video Part!

The riding in this part is hilarious. This is exactly how I remember Rich the first time I met him. Pedal fast, huck hard, and hope for the best. Now all he does is roll around with his foot dragging on the tire. Maybe this will kick start his brain and we’ll have the old huckster back in no time.

Enjoy.

Ben Kaufmann Street Edit

This video is going around everywhere, and rightfully so.  Ben’s been working on this video hard the last number of weeks and it has paid off.  Full street edit from Ben Kaufmann (I’m finally starting to spell the last name right!).

EDIT: can’t seem to embed the video, so click the photo above to view it.

Presence Premiere

I forgot to post this earlier, but Jeremy from Presence will be premiering his new video You Know What Time It Is? at the Green Room in Montreal on December 28th. It’s over a month away, but the more notice the better, right? Check out the interview I did with him about it here, and try and make it out. I think the 28th/29th is a holiday for most people, correct?

Random Photo

Here is a random photo of a photo. You may have seen it on Facebook already, but I never got down to the area with a camera in time so I’m stealing Ben’s. Under the pedestrian bridge at Colonely By and Rideau (often refered to as Bum Bridge) was a rotating installation of photos and art. This summer saw a series of photos shot in downtown Ottawa on Canada Day 2008, and one large photo even featured our very own Ben Kauffman, seen here smiling ear to ear. The photos have since come down, and temporary works of art have been put in their place, but Ben got this one in its prime.

Roland’s Woodward Log – Day 1

Roland already posted this on the message board, but it’s a great read and I didn’t want it lost in a sea of posts in a week and bumped off the page, so I’m re-posting it here. Stay tuned for Day 2. Take the time to read some inspiring words from this Ottawa BMX veteran on his long quest to ride Woodward.

Woodward Trip 2009

We just got home from a gnarly visit to Woodward camp in Pennsylvania. It was an incredible trip, and I’ll elaborate on it in a bigger post in the next couple of days… but until then I just couldn’t wait to put this picture up. Roland was opening up new lines at Woodward, a task not easily accomplished when there are pros visiting daily. In this photo, Roland is trying to handplant the sub across the channel from quarter to bank. Its a 4 foot gap from one to the other and he ends up right upside down. Sadly he never pulled it, but he had some of the gnarliest crashes trying…

Check back for the rest of the woodward coverage over the next couple of days.
