Best/Worst 2009 – Chris Chitaroni

Sorry Prashant for bogarting your best of post, but I forgot to send you mine and figured it was just easier to upload myself.  I uploaded pictures with mine for superior viewing pleasure.

Best/Worst of 2009

Year after year we compile best/worst lists of the passing year from a collection of different people in the Ottawa BMX community, as well as assorted friends. I asked a bunch of people what they thought the best and worst things were of the last year to them, and these are their responses. Click below to read them.

Corey Dewey – double peg to 180

Brandon Lalonde sent through a photo sequence he shot some time this past summer while Corey Dewey was in town. Click the photo to see it bigger.

Throwback Thursday

I dug this little picture out of the vault today. A classic Jeff Bedard shot. This was at the Ryan Heights skatepark in Sudbury that, for all intensive purposes, Jeff and I built. This park was great; when we started riding there, we’d get kicked out all the time because it was no bikes allowed. By the time the park died 5 or 6 years later, Jeff and I had keys to the maintenance shed, ordered the wood we wanted and built the ramps we thought would be best. In retrospect I wish I had known more about ramp construction because we could have built some really amazing stuff, but regardless I’ll always love that place for what it was.

This was of course before Jeff got himself tangled up in the world of Ci-gars and could pedal fast enough to get speed to do something like this… oh those were the days…

Yo, Sick – Volume 4

I finished the newest issue of my zine (Yo, Sick) a while ago, but a combination of a busy schedule/laziness kept me from getting copies made and assembled. With that said, the regular amount of 50 of them are all done and ready to go. A little bit larger than past issues (5.5″ x 4.25″), and 12 pages in total. There’s some illustrations, photos, contributed photos, collage, and a few words. A little less on the BMX, and heavier on other random stuff. Issue 5 is already slowly in the works, and I’m hoping to do a lot more with it.

If you want a copy they are available at Joe Mamma’s new location, or just ask me next time you see me. If you live outside of Ottawa and want one, hit me up and I will mail you a copy.

Taz Pics

I took a couple of pictures at Taz last night. We’ve been riding that park quite a bit as of late… With Ottawa in the no-zone for indoor parks, I’ve very grateful that Montreal and LeTaz is as close as it is… It’s easy to make it there for the ol’ 4-9 session on weekday nights.

December Videos

There has been a handful of videos posted on the message board in the last week, and I thought a couple of these deserved some spotlight on the front page. If you have a video you want to share, just send me an email and I’ll make sure it gets up on here for everyone to see.

Little Matt Comeau made another video full of fall riding with lots of great tech tricks. The last Berringer grind line is great, as is the 360 can can footjam to fakie.

Tommy posted this video of Orleans’ Josh “Emo” Tinholt recently too. Full of lots of good stuff.

Taz Video Edit

Roland is a super badass. Check the Video from Taz.

Roland is a Superman.

Well, I’m not even going to try and compete with Roland’s narrative of the weekend… but here are a couple of visual examples to accompany his story.
