Posted by Prashant - 30/03/10 at 04:03:07 pmLiam from UAB in Montreal sent me over a poster for a movie night they are having at the park next month. They’ll be playing Range of Motion from Ride BMX and You Know Time It Is? from Presence. Check out all the details on the poster below and try and make it out.

Spring is here. Expect more photos from me as I got some new camera gear and I am learning to shoot with it. Here I shot Jorden with my new fisheye and remote flash setup, untouched by photoshop. Jorden said “I’ll have too many tabletop photos.” I replied “You can never have too many tabletop photos.” Here is Jorden with his new found signature trick that he snaps so well. Note the foot and knee placement. Oh, and the unfortunate swastika in the bowl.
New Skyward Kick Short Film
Posted by Landozine - 23/03/10 at 08:03:27 pmThis is non BMX related news, but I figured many of you might enjoy this none the less. Last month my friend Jimm and I put together a short film which is actually based on a real life event. As many of you who have visited my apartment very well know, I live amidst the most entertaining of hookers. One cold winter night I was actually propositioned by a prostitute in snow pants… and that is exactly what we made a movie about.
The movie title is “New Years Resolutions” and casts the same characters that were in ‘Paternity Test’, and ‘That Guy’ (some of my previous films). This was a lot of fun to make, and it was the first project I’ve shot on my new 7D DSLR. I’m pretty stoked on it, so if you have 5 minutes to spare you should definitely check it out.
Dave McCaig – London to Cairo
Posted by Prashant - 23/03/10 at 08:03:07 am
Long time Ottawa BMX rider Dave McCaig recently returned to Canada for a short while, after having completed his longest bicycle tour yet, cycling from London to Cairo. Dave road the treacherous distance with his trusty Hasselblad camera, and two partners; Nikola, and his goofball brother Ryan. We have featured Dave’s photography on this site before, so I felt it only natural to ask him if he would share a handful of images from his latest cycling adventure on this site for everyone to see, and perhaps motivate and light a fire under people to explore traveling from a different perspective. Click below to read Dave’s statement and to check out the rest his amazing photos.

KANATA BIKE NIGHT!
Posted by Landozine - 20/03/10 at 09:03:24 pm
In the spirit of scene tightening, Capital BMX is going to be sponsoring KANATA BIKE NIGHT. For those of you who are new to the scene, this was a weekly event several years ago, back before the 206 days. Its a great opportunity to get out with your friends and get ruthless. Bring your bikes, bring a couple beers, and bring your deep bag of tricks, we’re going to have some fun.
It’s SPRING!
Posted by Landozine - 16/03/10 at 01:03:44 amI took the opportunity to enjoy the unseasonably excellent weather yesterday and went to ride the Orleans skatepark. I caught up with Tommy and bought a shirt and self filmed a little celebratory post winter web edit as well. Don’t expect anything ground breaking though, it was all just in fun.
They’ll let anyone march in this parade…
Posted by Landozine - 14/03/10 at 11:03:20 pmI went to the St patrick’s day parade on Bank Street this past weekend and was pleasantly entertained by not only some pretty interesting bicycle contraptions, but also the information that most of the galactic empire claims some sort of connection with Ireland…

Apparently the dark lord of the sith dons differently coloured capes for different holidays…

Toronto Bike Show Weekend
Posted by Prashant - 12/03/10 at 09:03:56 am
Jeff after his gas station dinner.
Chris has already posted a few of his photos from the Toronto BMX Jam this year, but I thought I would post my photos too. My weekend was a little bit different, as I discovered the best way to have fun in Toronto the weekend of the bike show, after having gone for the last 8 or 9 years, is to spend as little time as possible at the bike show. Don’t get me wrong, the show always has incredible riding, and it’s a great time to catch up with loads of people from all over Ontario (and further parts of Canada) that I rarely ever get a chance to see. The monotony of it all starts to wear on you, and by Sunday I am usually BMX’d out for a long while. Click below to read more and check out more photos from the weekend, that don’t involve the contest at all.

Not So Metro 2010
Posted by Landozine - 09/03/10 at 01:03:40 pmOnce again the best weekend in Canadian BMX has come and gone. This year wasn’t all that different from past years, although there were quite a few Ottawa faces missing from the mix. For those of you who didn’t make it down for the awesomeness, I’ve got a couple of photos to share.

Capital BMX T-Shirts
Posted by Prashant - 08/03/10 at 11:03:37 pm
Tommy Hains has crafted up some Capital BMX t-shirts in effort to continue to raise money for the proposed Orleans Box Jump. I’ve been saying for more years than I can remember that I want to get some shirts made, but Tommy finally made it happen.
They run $20 a piece with all the proceeds going toward the box jump fund, with black ink on white cotton only, in sizes medium, large, and a few extra larges. To get one you can contact Tommy directly (tommy-hains at hotmail dot com), and he will get it to you. Get behind this Ottawa. Click below for more photos of the shirt.
