39Cigarbeque Ghetto Ramp Jam

Andrew Grant with a lazy siesta wallride.

Yesterday saw host to the “event of the season” here in Ottawa. Jeff, Marc, Kyle and Jamie (and probably oxenburghinson to some extent as well) put on a jam with all the 39c ramps in behind Jeff’s warehouse. The turnout was healthy, I never did a head count but I’d confidently estimate having over 30 people there at one point.

Despite the weather forecast of thunderstorms, we got a full day of riding in and even had a solid groupswim at the quarry afterwards. Highlights from yesterday included watching our visiting friend Cai from the UK do a crazy wallride from a tiny kicker over a bunch of yellow pipes on the warehouse wall, Roland re-arranging the ramps to create a spine/subbox and go for rocket 360 nosepicks across it, Kyle Lafleur 180ing that same setup, Boudreau shoving hamburgers down people’s throats, little Matt doing hang five magic tricks, Jorden getting excited about everything and the Montreal guys finally showing up to one of our events!

Big thanks to everyone who came out, and to Jeff and the 39c guys for not only putting on the jam, but also for cooking for and feeding us. I think everyone had a great time, and this might need to become an annual thing…

Should be a little video of the long jump contest popping up on here soon too so keep your eyes peeled.
