Awzum Park
Posted by Prashant - 16/11/08 at 11:11:43 amI’ve been meaning to post this for a while now. Back in September Rich Redmond, Kyle Lafleur, and I took a day trip to ride the Madoc park. On the way back, driving down Highway 7, we found the most awzum park that we have come across yet. Rich shot a few photos, so click below to see more of what this utopia is like.

No, we aren’t serious. The park was absolutely terrible, and when we drove by we just had to stop. Terribly thin plastic coating on the ramps, rotting wood. We couldn’t stop laughing at this townships terrible attempt. Surely there are kids that skate and bike around there, but the decision makers in charge who let wastes on money parks such as this exist are probably doing more harm then good. Contracting out the cheapest suppliers of pre-fabricated ramps and placing them in an unused parking lot such as this is not getting kids stoked and and giving them an outlet to focus on. Obviously not every tiny town has a big budget to work with when trying to create a park, but this is a prime example of it done all wrong. Get the youth involved, get people knowledgeable and interested on board, and you can make better decisions and better uses of money.
