Riley Scott – Woodward
Posted by Prashant - 03/08/10 at 08:08:24 amRiley Scott sent me an email saying he recently went to Woodward Camp, and while down there met Jim Cielincki. Jim was so stoked on him and his bike he threw a few words up on the Sunday Bikes website. Click here to check it out.
Least Most – Yo Sick
Posted by Prashant - 08/04/10 at 03:04:44 pm
The other week I sent a pack of Yo Sick zines to Jason from Least Most and BMX Feed and he wrote a few nice words about it here. If you haven’t been checking out Least Most, you definitely should. The site is filled with lots of great original content ranging from BMX, art, music and more from a variety of great contributors. Have a look.
Also, if you want a copy of Yo Sick 5, shoot me an email and we’ll work it out. Look for issue 6 closer to the summer.
Throwback Thursday
Posted by Prashant - 25/02/10 at 09:02:27 am
Chris Silva – LandoZine ‘05 from iccsilva on Vimeo.
A drastic jump of about 20 years from last week’s Throwback Thursday, but this is the ender part from Landozine’s 2005 release Illusion of Man, of our friend Chris Silva. Footage from back in his days of Hyper Bikes and backyard ramps.
Also in Chris Silva news, if you haven’t heard already, he has started his own small clothing brand titled Sour Fever. A small, grass roots effort, where each shirt is hand screened by Chris himself in Toronto.

Posted by Prashant - 02/02/10 at 09:02:43 am
Our friend Trent Barker has some photos in the BMXFU online zine that his brother Scott put together. You can check it out here and the rest of the bmxfu.com site. Look for more of Trent’s photos in a new issue of Yo, Sick coming out later this winter.
Ben Kaufmann Norco Video
Posted by Prashant - 13/01/10 at 07:01:46 pmI was just about to re-post Ben’s web video from a couple of months ago (which you should go re-watch here), and I saw that this new video was put up on the Norco website. Most people know by now that Ben is on the 2010 Norco team, and has been riding a prototype of their re-worked high end complete bike. Stuff seems to be holding up for him, which says a lot for their product. Click on the photo below of Ben doing a huge icepick, or the link beneath it, and watch a solid video they posted of him riding some Montreal parks. More good stuff from Ben in 2010!

In The Gnar – Toner and Paper
Posted by Prashant - 19/08/09 at 10:08:46 pmThrough the power of the internet, accompanied by snail mail, I got the chance to become friends with Nick Ferreira who runs Holeshot Zine. He also runs the website In The Gnar, which if you haven’t bookmarked it and check it on the regular, you should. To make a long story short, Nick and I trade zines, and he did a post about zines and their relevance, and even had some nice words to say about mine. Take a look at the post here, and if you haven’t gotten a copy of Yo, Sick Volume 2 I should have some on hand this weekend at the 39C Jam. Just ask me for one and I will gladly give them out. Issue 3 is on the way.
Re-Session Coverage
Posted by Prashant - 30/06/09 at 04:06:21 pm
Ten Pack Re-Session Tour Eastern Canada Stops from Presence Bmx on Vimeo.
This has probably already been passed around the BMX inter-web like a hot potato, but it’s too good of a video to pass up. The eastern Canadian portion of the Re-Session Tour ended almost two weeks ago and Jeremy Deme put together this edit of the stops in Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa. Check it out and you will even see some local faces in it, as well as the 39C mini ramp. For more coverage of the tour you can check out amazing photos from David Lang (1, 2, 3) and Harley Haskett.
Presence BMX
Posted by Prashant - 26/03/09 at 05:03:55 pmThis isn’t exactly NEW news, but Jeremy Deme, from Montreal, got a new site rolling for his ongoing project Presence. They have finally entered the .com age and registered an official domain name. Check out the site for Montreal related news, upcoming web videos, and photos. There are some photos posted of recent street sessions as it seems Montreal is dry and rid of winter. Corey Dewey says “streets is always talkin’” in Montreal.
Pralex Blog
Posted by Prashant - 11/02/09 at 10:02:42 amOttawa’s flatland duo, Prasheel Gopal and Alex Poirier, recently started a blog to document their travels, and combined their own individual names to name it. They’ve been traveling consistently over the last year to numerous flatland contests, jams, and demos around North America (New Orleans, Atlanta, Cleveland, Indianapolis, Toronto, etc.) and have collected photos, videos, and other material to share, and are about to head down to Austin, Texas for a short while. If you like flatland, travel stories, matching tank tops, and other unrelated nonsense, take a look.
