Camera Check: Chris Chitaroni

Check out a camera check I did with Chris Chitaroni over at Northern Embassy. Chris is always a very outspoken and opinionated guy, and delivers some very interesting and funny answers to questions about filming, photography, DSLR’s, and BMX.

Ottawa to Barcelona

There’s a point form write up and loads of photos from everyone’s Barcelona trip by Rich up on Embassy.

Tommy Hains: Head Case

You’ve seen the riding photos already, but I asked Tommy some questions about the long ordeal he went through, surgery, and riding and he delivered some pretty in depth answers. You can read the full interview and check out a video with him over at Northern Embassy.

Jorden Guth Pad Check

Over on the Embassy site I asked Jorden about all the pads he drapes himself with every time he leaves his house. You can read that here.

Capital Riders Organization.

As most of you know, we were successful in our campaign to expand the Orleans skatepark this past year with the addition of a Box Jump. Hoping to ride that wave of success I’ve re-ignited the Capital Riders Organization flame and built a new webpage for the cause. I encourage everyone to go and take a look at it. Hopefully this will lead to some positive change in this city.

Jeremy Deme just launched a new website called The Northern Embassy, aimed at showcasing exclusive and original BMX content from people all across Canada. He has already put a couple short videos up, and with a team of contributors all over the country, the aim is display diverse material from all sorts of creative people within the Canadian scene. I, along with others, will be occasionally posting over there, so take a look.

as_bmx_zines_576

Presently up on the ESPN BMX website is an article about the still present subculture of BMX zines. In the article you will also find a review of Yo Sick Zine Issue 7. Click here to read the article and find out how you can get your hands on a few other really great zines.

Also, if you are in Toronto on Sunday, October 24th, stop by CANZINE at The Great Hall (1087 Queen Street West) between 1 and 7 pm to check out Canada’s largest zine fair and festival of alternative culture. Yo Sick Zine will be present with a table selling zines, buttons, and giving away candy. See you there.

Riley Scott – Woodward

Riley Scott sent me an email saying he recently went to Woodward Camp, and while down there met Jim Cielincki. Jim was so stoked on him and his bike he threw a few words up on the Sunday Bikes website. Click here to check it out.

Least Most – Yo Sick

The other week I sent a pack of Yo Sick zines to Jason from Least Most and BMX Feed and he wrote a few nice words about it here. If you haven’t been checking out Least Most, you definitely should. The site is filled with lots of great original content ranging from BMX, art, music and more from a variety of great contributors. Have a look.

Also, if you want a copy of Yo Sick 5, shoot me an email and we’ll work it out. Look for issue 6 closer to the summer.
