Fuck you Ash Cloud. We did Germany
Posted by Landozine - 27/05/10 at 01:05:49 pmNot even mother nature could stop us from ruthlessly conquering Germany. I’ll have a full update of stories and pictures sometime in the next couple of days. Until then, whet your whistles with this little video. Stops on the trip included Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Munich, Berlin, Hanover and Amsterdam. We put like 6000 km on our rental van. Best trip ever.
Boxjump Progress
Posted by Prashant - 22/05/10 at 10:05:13 am
Brandon Lalonde threw this photo up on Facebook of some of the work he and Roland have been doing so far on the construction of the Orleans boxjump. Construction has begun, and it shouldn’t be long before the hard work of many pays off for the enjoyment of all. This is the caption Brandon wrote:
ORLEANS BOXJUMP!!!!!!!!! Roland is the man. We cut all the transitions in about 5 hours. This thing is going to be amazing. Next step: assembly.

Tommy got brain surgery! He should be riding again in about a year. In the meantime he is resting and dreaming of 450 whips over hips. He has kept very busy and has been a leading hand in getting the soon to be Orleans box jump. Go Tommy Go! We'll slow down on the x-games tricks so you can catch up.
Farewell Jeff Bedard
Posted by Prashant - 30/04/10 at 09:04:49 pm
It is with heavy heart that we wish Jeff Bedard a fond farewell. Jeff is returning to his hometown of Sudbury for a short bit before heading off on a European excursion, and then making the long trek across Canada to relocate to Vancouver permanently. Jeff has been calling Ottawa home since 2006/2007(?) and his presence will surely be missed. It is arguable if he invented the word greazy, but he certainly personified it best. His riding and personality have been notorious at skateparks, street spots, contests, jams, events, parties, and everything in between. If you’ve ever had the pleasure of traveling or spending time with him, you know the endless laughs and excitement he can bring to even the dullest of times and a treat it is to have him around. One of the most interesting people I can say I have ever met, and an amazing well-rounded rider. Farewell Jeff, hopefully we see you again. Click below for some classic Jeff videos.

Posted by Landozine - 20/03/10 at 09:03:24 pm
In the spirit of scene tightening, Capital BMX is going to be sponsoring KANATA BIKE NIGHT. For those of you who are new to the scene, this was a weekly event several years ago, back before the 206 days. Its a great opportunity to get out with your friends and get ruthless. Bring your bikes, bring a couple beers, and bring your deep bag of tricks, we’re going to have some fun.
Not So Metro 2010
Posted by Landozine - 09/03/10 at 01:03:40 pmOnce again the best weekend in Canadian BMX has come and gone. This year wasn’t all that different from past years, although there were quite a few Ottawa faces missing from the mix. For those of you who didn’t make it down for the awesomeness, I’ve got a couple of photos to share.

Capital BMX T-Shirts
Posted by Prashant - 08/03/10 at 11:03:37 pm
Tommy Hains has crafted up some Capital BMX t-shirts in effort to continue to raise money for the proposed Orleans Box Jump. I’ve been saying for more years than I can remember that I want to get some shirts made, but Tommy finally made it happen.
They run $20 a piece with all the proceeds going toward the box jump fund, with black ink on white cotton only, in sizes medium, large, and a few extra larges. To get one you can contact Tommy directly (tommy-hains at hotmail dot com), and he will get it to you. Get behind this Ottawa. Click below for more photos of the shirt.

Yo Sick Release Party
Posted by Rich Red - 02/03/10 at 03:03:08 pm
Prashant threw a decent art party the other week. Not as nice as his cardigan, but really sweet none the less. Even Sketchy Kid (Byron Carrol) showed up, so if you didn’t, you suck.
39 C Hosted the best BMX JAM this decade.
Posted by Landozine - 18/01/10 at 11:01:49 pm
Kicking off 2010; Jeff, Marc, Karl, and Jamie threw down with one of the most original BMX Jams that I have ever been to. As most people in Ottawa know, Jeff has a bunch of ramps stowed away in his warehouse that have been used for a bunch of things already (backyard jam, ghetto street jam)… well this time the 39C boys decided to take things to a new level by placing the ramps smack dab in the middle of their living room. I wasn’t totally surprised when they announced their plans to do this, as anyone who knows them knows that they like to leave their living room as little as possible. Beers and C-gars on the couch all day. What DID surprise me was the amount of work they put in to make it happen, very out of character for Jeff especially.
