Capital BMX Video Challenge Day 3
Posted by Landozine - 03/07/11 at 11:07:08 pmWell I was lucky again to ride with a big group of guys all filming for the contest again today. Managed to see some pretty awesome stuff too. I don’t want to give anything away, but I’m very excited to see what people hand in at the end of the week. Keep filming everyone!!!
Jay and I were sessioning the same jump so we got creative in placing our ‘objects’. Nothing like a beaver holding a dead baby…

Video Contest Day 2.
Posted by Landozine - 02/07/11 at 10:07:09 pmDay two of the video contest has come and gone. I saw some pretty rad stuff go down for the cameras at Rich’s trails this afternoon and hope that you guys were all out doing the same all over the city.
Jay blew a wheel up filming hang 5′s yesterday, his intensity to win is so crazy he’s literally exploding things with his riding. The pressure of the tube exploding actually bent the rim out. Crazy.
Thanks to Colin for the photo.
VIDEO CONTEST UPDATE
Posted by Landozine - 30/06/11 at 10:06:31 pmThe video contest begins tomorrow morning, July 1st. And as promised here are some final details.
THE CATCH:
In order to prove your clips were shot between july 1st and 7th, you must have a household object (the same household object) appear somewhere in each shot. So for example, for my submission I will have a blow up doll in each clip posed somewhere hilarious. THERE WILL BE A PRIZE FOR BEST CHOICE OF OBJECT as well, so please try and be clever. Try not to use small things that you can barely see either.
SUBMISSION:
Videos must be uploaded to Youtube or Vimeo by the end of July 7th and emailed to landozine@hotmail.com in order to be considered for competition.
IF anyone has questions. Email landozine@hotmail.com

One More Good Spirit Gone
Posted by Rich Red - 04/01/11 at 07:01:26 pmOk, not gone. He didn’t die. He just moved to the large black abyss known as Toronto. While the people and traffic suck, the culture, the city, the spots, and the excess of things to do, do not suck. Leland and Pat don’t suck either. In fact there are a bunch others who don’t, but so many that do…
Prashant, we are gonna miss your relentless hand gestures, hilarious laugh that goes into overdrive, and unique story telling. Some of which can be seen in these classic pics. See you at Metro Jam the latest.
Oh, and if you get total control of the reigns at Ten Pack, I have a really great idea for a signature fart spray.
Best of Luck Continue reading One More Good Spirit Gone…

Posted by Prashant - 25/12/10 at 02:12:24 pmCAPITAL BMX TAZ RENTAL.
Posted by Landozine - 16/12/10 at 05:12:51 pmI posted this up on the message board a couple weeks back, but CAPITAL BMX will be renting out TAZ on January 8th (Saturday) from 9pm to midnight for all Ottawa riders. It is free to ride for the first 20 people to show up, and every rider after that is an additional 10$. We are doing this to thank everyone for their support over the past two years of fundraising for the Orleans box jump. It was a huge success and we want to celebrate with a good private jam.
I know some idiots out there went and booked a trip to chipboard village that weekend despite my previous post up about this, so there will definitely be alot of spots. Hey Orleans kids and Gatineau kids, find a way out. Be part of the scene. Lets have a good time and get our ride on.
If anyone has any questions, feel free to email me. Chris@Chitaroni.com
10 Year Anniversary
Posted by Prashant - 29/11/10 at 09:11:45 amThis winter marks the 10 year anniversary of Capital BMX, which is quite an accomplishment for a local scene website. I had personally taken over the site 8 years ago from my brother who first started it. Since that time, the look of it has gone through changes, the domain name has been through changes (.com, .cjb.net, etc.), we’ve lost all kinds of posts and photos, we’ve lost riders, but one thing that it has always managed to do is bring riders from across the city together. We’ve promoted and put on countless events, jams, contests, premieres, and roadtrips and showcased rider’s photos, videos, and writing, which would not have been possible to reach as many people as we have without this site.

As you may have noticed, this morning CapitalBMX was hacked. In reality it wasnt only capital that got hacked but also all the websites on the server at our webhost. Luckily our host was very quickly able to roll back to an offsite version and almost nothing was lost.
There have been a few requests to see the hacker page that replaced CapitalBMX, so in all its glory I present. HaCkEd by nO lOv3
If you see or run into any bugs or issues on the site feel free to send me an email and I can take care of them. matt at mattdavidson dot ca
