Throwback Thursday

So I cleaned out my old PC to give to Steve and I took all the old videos off of it and found this GEM. Back in like 2005 Jeff and I drove to Ottawa to ride Jose’s Freuben contest. It was one of the best contests I have ever ridden, super fun, super epic, but I ended up taking all the MTB footage and making a little joke compilation that ended up pissing off the entire MTB community in Ottawa. I remember reading the MTB Kanata boards and seeing people threatening to beat me up if I ever came back to Ottawa. (Note: I moved here the next year and nobody said nothing. Pussies) Anyhow, the video ends with Rich Redmond making his MTB debut and winning best trick or some shit with a tailwhip over the box jump (that shit was unheard of at that time). And for his BMX insolence I flipped him the bird at the end of the video, with hilarious results.

Barcelona Encore!

If you missed the premiere of the Barcelona video last month, you’re in luck! It has been selected to play at the ByTowne Cinema on March 29th @ 7pm as part of the Treepot Indie Filmmaker Showcase. So it wont be playing alone, you’ll get to watch some other really cool movies by local artists. This version of the video is a bit of a directors cut, I had to shave a few minutes off to fit the program, but all the good stuff remains! Come one come all!

Quit Wasting My Film

I finally got around to uploading the Super 8mm BMX video I shot a few years back. This is probably my favourite Landozine video of all time. It has a really good energy to it, and the whole film thing really makes it unique. If you haven’t seen it before, take a look. If you have seen it before, watch it again. It’s spring. Get hyped.

Crash Compilation 2011

So. I didn’t include the crash section in the Landozine X DVD. Too much other awesome junk on there, figured the crashes would go better on the net (and more people would see it probably… haha) So without further ado… here is Boudreau smashing his nuts on a concrete block (among other bicycle related catastrophies…)

Promo for Craig’s new shop.

For those of you who don’t know, Craig Robinson has a bike shop in Montreal now called “The Spot”. He filmed a few clips at taz a while back and Jorden Guth edited him a little commercial. It has yet to go viral but the riding is pretty gnarly. Craig is a veritable badass on his bike, always does a tonne of super original stuff. Check the video out and see for yourself.

VIDEO PREMIERE THIS SATURDAY!

A quick reminder for everyone, This Saturday Feb 11th @ The Clocktower Pub on Bank street (Right near the old Joe Mamma’s location) we will be holding a video premiere. Two videos will be playing, the first is a travel documentary style video that we filmed during our trip to Barcelona this summer. It is very cool, lots of great riding, lots of great travelling, lots of interesting stories about ruthlessness. The next video is titled ‘Landozine X’ and is a celebration of ten years of BMX filmmaking. This is the tenth video in the Landozine collection and showcases parts from Jay Leroux, Crazy Steve, Rich Redmond, Chris Chitaroni, Jorden Guth, Kyle Lafleur and Nick Stupich. Other riders showcased in this video include Tommy Hains, Ben Kaufmann, Ben Desjardins, Josh Brose, Ace, Nick Barnard, and many more. It is a sick watch. I was actually surprised by the level of riding that went down this past year. Hope to see you all out for the show!

DVDs will be on sale for $20, and they include LANDOZINE X,  A PRACTICAL GUIDE TO RUTHLESSNESS: BARCELONA EDITION, as well as last year’s Germany Trip, Vancouver Trip AND this year’s 2011 Woodward Trip. The DVD is jam packed full of riding. Don’t miss out. Bring a GREEN QUEEN to buy one.

WHEN: FEB 11th 2012
TIME : 2pm
WHERE: CLOCKTOWER PUB ON BANK STREET (BANK AND PRETORIA)
COST : FREE!

BARCELONA VIDEO PREMIERE SATURDAY FEB 11th 2 PM!!!

I hope to see you all out next Saturday afternoon at 2pm for the premiere of the Landozine BARCELONA video, as well as the 10th anniversary Landozine video… that’s right. I just finished editing 2 videos and will be showing them both for FREE at the Clocktower Pub on Saturday February 11th. This is an all ages event, so if you ride a bike in Ottawa or Gatineau and aren’t working on Saturday, you have no excuse but to come out and have a good time.
DVDs will be on sale after the premiere, $20 gets you both the Landozine 10th anniversary video and the Barcelona video as well as a heap of extras. Big thanks to Joe Mamma’s as always for setting us up with the venue. And after the whole thing is wrapped up most of us are going to be heading to Montreal to ride Liam’s Taz rental. All are invited!

Barcelona Vacation Trailer

I’ve had a couple of people ask me what happened to the Barcelona footage, and after sifting through and organizing the nearly 100 gb of footage that was shot on the trip I’ve finally started editing it. It will be included in the ‘Landozine X’ DVD pack scheduled to be released sometime in February to commemorate ten years of Landozine videos. Click the link below to see the trailer. It’s 2 minutes long, and I didn’t really even use any of the best clips. The full video is going to be gnarly.

Throwback Thursday – Landozine Videozine 2006

I’ve been meaning to toss this up on Vimeo for a while and finally got around to it last night, just in time for a throwback thursday. This is the video that made Andrew Grant an international superstar, and established Jorden as King Coma. I can’t believe that this video came out 5 years ago. It feels like just  yesterday we were sitting around 206 watching menu screens in our underwear. (and pads)

I watched it all the way through last night and got a serious nostalgia bomb. I miss being unemployed and road tripping constantly. Hell, riding my bike every day like I did then would be fun now. But I guess I’ll have to settle for watching old videos for a while since winter is on the come up.

Enjoy!

TRAILS JAM ANNOUNCEMENT + TRAILS VIDEO

Come out and get your bike dirty at Josh Brose’s family farm where he has built two spectacular doubles and a big lofty quarterpipe. We’re going to be riding all day in a non formal jam format, with prizes donated from Jose Bray and Joe Mamma’s.

Even you brakeless street dogs should strap on your helmets and elbow pads and come out. Even if you’re not feeling the jumps, we’re going to have food, drinks, music and good times. It also happens to be Josh’s birthday, so there will be much celebrating going on.

Drive out, ride for the day, and sleep over. There is plenty of room to tent, and there are some accommodations inside as well.

INVITE YOUR FRIENDS, even non-riding friends who would come out and have a good time. Otherwise you’re just going to be riding in front of a bunch of cows.
