Guelph Weekend Recap

Pat
Man of the hour, Patrick Krzyzanowski

So the other day Rich Redmond, Jeff Bedard, and myself (Prashant ) headed down to Guelph for the opening reception of our friend Patrick’s Art Show. He’s been studying fine art at the University of Guelph for a couple of years now, and his body of work and technical skills is becoming more and more refined, so I was excited to see how his work for the show would turn out. His work consisted of large sized watercolour pieces with fine line ink drawing depicting an era of professional wrestling and the “masculinity” of it all. I snapped a few photos at the show, and you can check them out by clicking below.

rich
Rich was stoked on the wine and cheese.

lelo+pat
Leland Nightingale at Pat K. – two of Toronto’s finest.

art
These were some of Pat’s pieces for the show.

art2
More of Pat’s work.

bike
Pat’s bike was laying around, so Rich decided to ride it in to the gallery space, do some 180’s, and make a group of girls feel uncomfortable. This is how BMX we are, riding bikes at an art show.

hang5
Jeff did some hang 5’s in the hallway.

robbie
I finally met the infamous Ruthless Robbie. An interesting experience to say the least.

newwork
This was some new work Pat was working on at his place.

board
This was just a bulletin board in his work space that had a lot of random clippings of work and other random stuff.

Later that night everyone went back to Pat’s house for a party, and a few of us made it out to the bar, and then even fewer ended up throwing eggs to some street gawkers in an apartment building. Jeff Bedard woke up on a pile of Jenga blocks and had himself a ci-gar and a Calsberg to wake up to in the morning. It was a very short trip, but great to see friends of yours in BMX successful in other avenues in their life. Congratulations on a great show Pat, and I look forward to seeing more of your work develop down the line.
