Throwback Thursday

This week I have some really great throwback material. After some pre-winter cleaning at Joe Mamma’s, I stumbled upon these great photos.

The first photo dates back to the Freuban contest held at the old Ottawa Skate Park. To all you ultra new school kids, take a look at what we used to get to ride. Many of the ramps in the photo were constructed only a night or two before the contest too. You can also notice the abundance of 26″ wheels, as this was right around the peak of the whole ‘urban mountain biking’ scene in Ottawa.

Now this photo is my favorite. Rich is probably a little bit red-faced right now, but that’s alright. He tells me his friend Derek took the photos and made this. My favorite part is the pose on the bottom left corner with the aviators on.
